Code of Conduct WALTER GROUP | Business Partners CoC Business Partners | October 2025 Page 7 of 10 3.7 Reduction of Raw Material and Natural Resource Consumption The use and consumption of resources during production, as well as the generation of all types of waste including water and energy consumption must be reduced or avoided. This may be achieved directly at source or through appropriate procedures and mea sures, such as adapting production and maintenance processes, optimising operations, using alternative materials and implementing savings, recycling or reuse. The principles of the circular economy must be observed in order to conserve resources, avoid waste wherever possible and keep recyclable materials within the resource cycle. 3.8 Energy Consumption and Efficiency Energy consumption must be continuously monitored and transparently documented. The Business Partner shall take economically reasonable measures to improve energy efficiency and to sustainably reduce overall consumption. 3.9 Prevention of Deforestation The Business Partner must not use or distribute products that contribute to deforestation or forest degradation. Appropriate measures must be taken to ensure that all goods within the supply chain originate from sustainable sources and do not cause adverse impacts on forests. In this regard, the requirements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR 2023) and other relevant international standards must be observed. 3.10 Biodiversity The protection and promotion of biological diversity are of central importance to the WALTER GROUP. The Business Partner is therefore expected to systematically assess the impacts of its business activities on ecosystems and biodiversity, to minimise risks and where possible to make positive contributions to the preservation of biodiversity. Compliance with all relevant laws, the protection of natural habitats and adherence to international frameworks such as the Kunming- Montreal Global Biodiversity Fra mework (COP15, 2022) are essential. 4. Ethical Business Conduct The Business Partner is required to act at all times in a sustainable, socially responsible, environ- mentally conscious, ethical and legally compliant manner when performing its services. It must fully comply with all applicable national and international laws and regulatory requirements. The Business Partner is expected to actively ensure that its business practices never create the impression of unethical, unlawful or inappropriate conduct. Even the mere appearance of unethical behaviour must be strictly avoided.
